Entergy Louisiana Partners with St. Bernard Parish for Outreach Day

Company will give weatherization tips; Help customers apply for LIHEAP funds

Chalmette, La. – Entergy Louisiana, LLC, and the St. Bernard Parish Office of Community Development will team up to offer Outreach Day on Friday, July 11.

The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and will be held at the Community Center of St. Bernard (1107 LeBeau St. in Arabi).

Outreach Day will feature several activities aimed at helping St. Bernard Parish residents prepare for the hot weather months and hurricane season. The Office of Community Development will help qualified residents apply for assistance from the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program. The program provides money to help low income residents pay their utility bills.

Entergy Louisiana representatives will be on hand to give weatherization tips to help customers save money on their monthly electric bills. They will also provide tips for preparing for hurricanes.

The St. Bernard Parish Office of Homeland Security will sign up special needs residents who need assistance when evacuating during emergencies.

“Outreach Day is a great opportunity for residents of St. Bernard Parish to prepare for a few of the things that go along with summer – high temperatures and hurricane season,” said Molly Buckley, Entergy Louisiana’s customer service manager for St. Bernard and Plaquemines parishes. “Our hope is that the information available will be helpful for the people of St. Bernard as the summer gets under way.”

Refreshments will be served during the event and there will be giveaways throughout the day.

Entergy’s Louisiana utility companies serve more than one million customers through the operating companies Entergy Louisiana, LLC and Entergy Gulf States Louisiana, L.L.C. With operations in southern, central and northeastern Louisiana, the companies are part of Entergy Corporation’s electric system serving 2.7 million customers in Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi and Texas.

Entergy Louisiana’s online address is entergy-louisiana.com.
