extending deadline to Monday at 5 p.m.
for applications
for Councilman at Large (East)
Council
will hold special meeting Tuesday at 7 p.m. to make appointment
All interested and qualified parties who would like to apply for
the vacant Interim Councilman at Large East position that is
available within the St. Bernard Parish Council should forward their
resume to Roxanne Adams, Clerk of Council, 8201 W. Judge Perez Dr.,
Chalmette, LA 70043, 504-278-4209 or email to
radams@sbpg.net no later than 5 p.m. on Monday, April 7, 2008.
The council voted to extend the deadline at a special meeting on
Thursday. An appointee filling the councilmanic vacancy shall be
ineligible as a candidate for that office in the October 2008
election for that office. There
will be a special council meeting to discuss the applicants and make
an appointment on Tuesday, April 8 at 7 p.m.
The applicant must be 18 years of age or older, have lived in the
State of Louisiana for the past 2 years and domiciled in the
district for which they are applying for the past 1 year. The
district includes everything East of Seelos Court, across St.
Bernard Highway, down Gallo Drive to the 40 Arpent.
