SHAKESPEARE RETURNS TO ROCKY & CARLOS

Event will be April 24th at Chalmette High School

Shakespeare returns to Rocky & Carlos! Shine Productions announces the return of the hilarious, irreverent comedy "The Compleat Works of Shakespeare, abridged" to the stage of the Sicilian Room in April.

"You'll see 37 plays in 97 minutes, and laugh out-loud the entire evening," said producer Rose Marie Sand. "This may well be the funniest night you'll ever have in theatre, or at the Sicilian Room."

The pre-Katrina debut of this show to St. Bernard audiences garnered much audience and critical acclaim. Theatre critic Al Shea said, "In less than two hours, three young and super energetic clowns take us on a whirlwind jaunt through many of the Bard's great works. It is all performed like a speeding bullet, with the boys playing all of the parts, falling over each other to enter and exit with and without wigs and funny hats....Reminiscent of the Three Stooges, the audience loves their silly shenanigans and laughed out loud from start to finish."

Director Barry Lemoine, often called "The Bard of St. Bernard," claims that the show is a roller coaster ride of comedy and a frenzied romp of irreverence.  The cast has been in rehearsals, adding updated references to the already zany production.

"My favorite thing about this show is the chemistry with Will and Chris. It's always fresh, and funny and we always make the humor local and topical.  I think the audiences feed off of that, " Lemoine said.

If you love, Shakespeare, if you don't know Shakespeare from Shine-ola, if you love Rocky's food and side-splitting laughter, join us and prove that mold isn't the only culture in St. Bernard. This crash course of all of Shakespeare's work, is performed by St. Bernard's own theatrical Three Stooges: Barry Lemoine, Will Schneider and Christian Bordelon.

The show opened April 4 will continue its run with shows on April 11th and 12th, at 8:30 pm. Ticket costs are $15 for the show only, and $30 for the 8:30 show with selected menus from the famed Chalmette eatery. Your meal ticket includes favorite Italian specialties, salad and soft drink.

A cash bar will be available. Call Sand at 504-666-1220 for tickets
