ST. BERNARD WATER AND SEWER BILLS CAN BE PAID ONLINE
New service part of the parish president’s 100-day plan

In keeping with St. Bernard Parish Craig P. Taffaro Jr.’s 100-day plan that calls for a virtual government, St. Bernard residents and business owners will be able to pay their water and sewer bills online at www.sbpg.net.

Starting immediately and for each week over the next month, sections of the parish will be added as those bills are generated. Within 30 days, all accounts should be online. Bills for Chalmette and Meraux customers are online currently.

Customers should look for the bill pay link on the upper right hand side of the home page on the parish website. Currently there are no charges for this service, which is an e-check system and involves a simple one-page form. Shortly the parish will offer customers the option of paying by credit card, which will have a minimal surcharge as required by law.

When customers sign on for the first time, they must have a current bill with their account number. They will enter their account number and on the first log-in, they will not use a password. At the initial log-in, the customer will fill out their profile and set a private password.

All subsequent log-ins will require the water and sewer bill account number and the password established by the customer. The water and sewer department phone number is 271-1681.

The parish is currently working to establish a system so residents will be able to pay their recreation fees online as well. That is expected to be unveiled in about 30 days.
