RESIDENTS CAN
RENT PAVILIONS AT TORRES AND VISTA PARKS
Sites are
available for family and company events
In keeping with his 100-day plan to refurbish key
recreation facilities as soon as possible, St. Bernard Parish
President Craig P. Taffaro Jr. has announced that residents can rent
the refurbished pavilions for family gatherings or picnics at two
Chalmette parks.
The parish is charging a fee of $100 for a three-hour
rental with a $100 clean-up deposit.
The pavilion at Vista Park on Victory Drive has
access to the playground equipment at that site, and the pavilions
at the St. Bernard Community Playground in Torres Park behind the
government complex are adjacent to the newly refurbished
14,000-square foot wooden playground area.
The pavilions at the Community Playground are still
under construction but will be completed in time for the grand
opening of the playground and amphitheater on May 18.
Director of Parks and Recreation Donnie Bourgeois
said residents can call his department to reserve the facilities and
put down the deposit. The facilities can be rented for the following
periods on Saturdays and Sundays: from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.; 2 to 5
p.m.; and 6 to 9 p.m.
