ST. BERNARD PARISH RECEIVES A $21 MILLION DOLLAR LOAN TO REPLACE WATER LINES  

St. Bernard Parish Government is set to receive a $21 Million Dollar Loan for the replacement of water lines. The loan, received from LA Department of Health and Hospitals (DHH) will come in two phases. DHH also informed the parish that because of their due diligence and rapid response, the first $1,125,000 of the loan will be forgiven. Phase One, which the parish has already received, is for $11,000,000 and it includes waterline replacement on Mehle Avenue, Friscoville Avenue and Rowley Boulevard in Arabi. Phase Two, the remaining $10,000,000 will include water line extension of Highway 46.

Parish President David Peralta stated "I want to congratulate my staff for a job well done." "Their professionalism and hard work will not only save this community over one million dollars, but more importantly, will yield a state-of-the-art water system."
