St. Bernard Parish Update – JULY 13, 2020
Chalmette, LA. – Due to the continuing COVID-19 Pandemic and per Governor John Bel Edwards’s executive order (Proclamation 89 JBE 2020), all Louisianans aged 8 years old or older must wear a mask or face-covering in public. Though not mandatory, it is encouraged that children between the ages of 2 through 7 do so as well.
Passengers will not be permitted to ride the bus if they are not wearing either a mask or face-covering.
If a medical condition prevents you from wearing either a mask or face-covering, we strongly suggest you seek alternative means of transportation to reduce the chance of contracting the virus.
This executive order is intended to bring down COVID-19 infection numbers so the state does not have to revert to the Phase 1 lockdown.
Businesses can visit https://opensafely.la.gov/ and complete the quick process. They will receive the current life safety and COVID mitigation standards along with a placard to post. The business will then receive real-time updates on changes to include when opening is allowed for the specific type of business.
