St. Bernard Parish Update – OCTOBER 7, 2020

Chalmette, LA –  Hurricane Delta conditions continue to improve for St. Bernard Parish according to the National Weather Service.

As of 10am CDT, projected rainfalls have been lowered to under 4” and the current storm surge projection has been reduced to 4’ – 6’ for St. Bernard.

Delta landfall is still expected to be late Friday to early Saturday with tropical storm winds reaching St. Bernard by midday Friday.

President McInnis and the Council would like the citizens of St. Bernard Parish to REMAIN on high alert, knowing that Hurricane projections can and will change.

President McInnis is also requesting that citizens with assets outside of the levee protection system, that would be affected by a 4’ to 6’ storm surge, make every effort to preserve those assets by moving them inside the levee protection system, BEFORE FRIDAY, OCTOBER 9th at NOON.

As always, these assets will be moved inside the system on the westbound lane.
