St. Bernard Parish Update –OCTOBER 16, 2020
Chalmette, LA. – A ribbon cutting hosted by Council Member Wanda Alcon of District D was held this morning at the newly restored Cypress Park playground located at 2313 Paul Drive in Meraux.
The playground features:
- Regulation high school basketball court
- Huge covered pavilion with picnic benches
- Shaded children’s playground
- Walking path encircling the park and connected to the St. Bernard Manor retirement home
The playground was made possible by a grant from the St. Bernard Cy Pres Committee, chaired by Judge Robert Klees.
On-Point Construction, LLC of Meraux built the park with a budget of $358,000.

COVID-19:
