The Department of Human Resources is responsible for administering the SBPG personnel system and preparing personnel policies. The department is also charged with determining merit and fitness of candidates for appointment or promotion. Finally, the department ensures compliance with all state and federal employment laws and coordinates with the Personnel Review Board and the Appointments Review Board for the purpose of establishing positions within the classified system and soliciting board and commission membership.
