MISSISSIPPI RIVER TRAIL PHASE I&II NEARS COMPLETION

Parish President Guy McInnis reported construction is nearing completion on the first phases of the St. Bernard Parish Mississippi River Trail. Constructed is by Barber Brothers Contracting.

The first phase of the trail will span three miles starting at the east side of Valero Refinery and proceeding east to the Violet Canal.  Additional phases will continue the trail downriver to the Plaquemines Parish line and upriver to Paris Road...

FORTY ARPENT TRAIL FROM ARABI TO VIOLET UNDER CONSTRUCTION

The Parish is currently constructing the first phase of the Forty Arpent Trail that will extend approximately 8 miles from Arabi (Heights Park located at 1914 Alexander Avenue) east to Guerra Drive in Violet.

The trail will follow along the base of the back levee through Arabi, Chalmette, Meraux and into Violet.
