A new multi-use trail is now completed along the median of Jean Lafitte Parkway in Chalmette. The project includes a connector trail to the 40 Arpent Wetlands Observatory. The approximately half-mile pathway links Torres Park and Government Complex to the 40 Arpent Trail entrance at the Observatory.
This project is being funded by the Federal Highway Administration’s Transportation Alternatives Program as administered by the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, and St. Bernard Parish Government. The Parish Capital Projects Division is coordinating construction of this project.
