After much deliberation, Parish officials stand together with our state partners that our residents would be best served with the cancelation of prior scheduled events. The safety of our residents and their families is the highest priority of this administration. As more cases begin to test positive in and around St. Bernard Parish, it is imperative that residents take the necessary precautions to limit exposure.

The intention of both local health and elected officials is to take actions to mitigate the rapid spread of COVID-19 amongst our citizens. These policies will relieve stress upon our limited healthcare facilities in St. Bernard Parish and allow residents whom contract this virus to receive more efficient care locally.

“The Coronavirus is at the forefront of everyone’s concerns, I can assure you, Parish Government and the Council is in lockstep with our citizens. We also understand, that the families of the Parish have the best understanding of their medical status. With this in mind, Parish Government will continue to be open for business. We will monitor the situation as it develops daily and provide the necessary updates to our residents accordingly” said Parish President McInnis.

Any residents feeling sick should seek immediate medical attention at their nearest health care facility. Please follow sbpg.net, the social media pages and Press Releases for updates.
