Seating priority will be given to St. Bernard Parish residents who do not have transportation. If you have your own vehicle, please use it instead. Parking at the pickup points and staging areas will be limited. For more information, please call 504-277-1907.

Whenever an emergency (of any type - not just a hurricane) so requires, or whenever the Parish President calls for an evacuation. Announcements will be made on WWL Radio (870 AM or 105.3 FM), and on the parish website. If only part of the parish is evacuated, only those pickup points in or near the affected area will be used. If you’re ambulatory (able to get around on your own), just come to a pickup point, and SBURT will bring you to the staging area. Please be aware that the buses may not have air conditioning. Separate buses will be used for those whose special needs so require. If you’re not ambulatory, please contact in advance by calling 504-278-4322 or 504-278-4268 so that we may make arrangements for you to be transported by Acadian Ambulance. Caretakers are encouraged to evacuate with their patients. For more information, please call 504-277-1907.

Your pet will be tagged at the staging area, and you will receive a matching tag. However, pets will not be allowed on the buses themselves. Instead, they will be transported in covered trailers attached to some of the buses. Please have a pet carrier and any items needed for the care of your pet.
